Artificial Intelligence & Inclusion in Education-no1

Artificial Intelligence is not just about technology — it is about people.

In our programme, AI is explored as a powerful tool to promote inclusion, equity, and equal opportunities in education. When used ethically and creatively, AI can help teachers respond to diverse learning needs and support all learners, including students with disabilities, learning difficulties, linguistic barriers, or different cultural backgrounds.

🔹 Personalised learning pathways
🔹 Assistive technologies for accessibility
🔹 Creative and inclusive digital tools
🔹 Support for teachers in differentiated instruction

By combining AI, pedagogy, and empathy, we aim to empower educators and students to co-create learning environments where no one is left behind.

Our vision is clear:
👉 Technology should bridge gaps, not widen them.
👉 Inclusion should be designed, not added later.

Together, we are building a future where Artificial Intelligence supports human values, wellbeing, and inclusive education.

🌱🤖 Teaching Living and Non-Living Things with Artificial Intelligence

Within our programme, we used Artificial Intelligence as a pedagogical tool to teach the concepts of living and non-living things in Science in a hands-on, inclusive, and student-centred way.

AI-supported activities allowed us to adapt the learning process to students’ different needs, learning paces, and abilities, ensuring that all learners could actively participate. Through visual prompts, guided questions, and interactive exploration, students observed, compared, and classified elements of the natural world while developing scientific thinking and vocabulary.

By integrating AI tools into the lesson, students were encouraged to:

  • Identify the characteristics of living and non-living things,

  • make connections with real-life examples,

  • express their ideas through images, discussion, and collaboration,

  • and engage in learning regardless of learning difficulties or language barriers.

Artificial Intelligence functioned as a supportive and inclusive learning partner, enhancing curiosity, participation, and equal access to scientific knowledge, while reinforcing the idea that technology should serve human values and inclusion in education.

We used the following AI tools

NotebookLM, to produce podcasts, videos and infographics

Diffit for teachers, to produce text and brainstorming activities

Chalkie, to create lesson sheets
